Raw, untamed, furious yet sophisticated, “Yggdrasill” is undoubtedly an essential cornerstone of the Norwegian Black Metal scene. Despite the young age of their members in their teens at the time they recorded it, “Yggdrasill” already shows Enslaved ability to write complex, powerful and evocative compositions, being among the first ones to tap into the Norse mythology and Viking imagery to convey their Nordic heritage.

It is a release of which I am immensely proud of and have endless tenderness for. Youthful pure passion for music, disregard for any perceived rules and dogmas - I try to let this inspire everything we do to this day, however different we may or may not sound today.
